After the success of their first video, Maximillian Rudd has again collaborated with critically acclaimed Australian guitarist Doug de Vries for a video recorded remotely during Melbourne’s coronavirus lockdown.
The new duo present Na Glória by Raul de Barros and Ary dos Santos, recorded remotely during Melbourne’s lockdown.
Maximillian Rudd has released the first video in his new Table For One miniseries, produced during the covid-19 restrictions. The videos replicate the traditional roda de choro of Brazil, wherein musicians gather around a table to jam, amidst the context of a pandemic that has forced musicians to think (more) creatively. Check out the first video of Assanhado by the great Brazilian mandolinist Jacob do Bandolim.
Preeminent Australian music magazine Beat gives the green light to the new album, calling it a “melting pot of groove and global flavours.” Read the full review here.
Encompassing storytelling, global influences and a rich sense of culture and character, Salvador is a truly enveloping celebration of love, life and belonging.
Australian music media staple Forte has given Salvador its resounding approval in a recent feature article celebrating the release. Editor Talia Rinaldo writes:
The melting pot of South American, jazz, blues and roots influences that Rudd has stirred over the last few years is poured out in completely new ways on this release and is a testament to Rudd’s growth as an artist. Yet the familiar taste of everything Maximillian Rudd has given us before still lingers long after, in the best possible way.
